Denver Zoo to Host Orangutan Expert for Fund-Raiser
The Denver Zoo will host orangutan expert Dr. Serge Wich of the Great Ape Trust of Iowa for a great ape conservation fund-raiser on Thursday, April 16, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Tickets to the event are $25, and the evening will include beer / wine and desserts, a live auction, a raffle, and sales of the palm oil-free lotions by Chandler Farms. Proceeds of the event will benefit Wich’s orangutan research in Sumatra.
Among the items to be sold are paintings by the orangutans and gorillas at the Denver Zoo.
Wich is one of the editors of Orangutans: Geographic Variation in Behavioral Ecology and Conservation, considered by many to be the most comprehensive book ever written on orangutan conservation.
